Hi, I'm Arnob Banik!
I am a Senior Modeling and Simulation Engineer at 3M. I have obtained my PhD in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Akron. Welcome to my site!
I worked under the supervision of Dr. KT Tan at Advanced Metacomposites Laboratory during my PhD.
My research expertise and interests from my PhD are in the field of finite element analysis (FEA), advanced composites, mechanical characterization, biomimetic structures, tire mechanics, and crush analysis.
Specific areas of my research during my graduate study include but are not limited to :
Mechanical and structural characterization of different types of advanced composite materials at various environmental conditions through experimental approach and computational modeling as well as explore the damage mechanism and fracture behavior under static and dynamic loading.
Design and development of innovative structures based on biomimicry that can provide better mechanical solutions to a real-world problem. Biomimetic applications have been investigated on TIRE MECHANICS for better wet-friction and COMPOSITES for great impact tolerance.
Crash analysis between different vehicles (provided by NHTSA) and portable concrete barrier using LS-DYNA according to proper rules and regulations.
